The Easthampton Art Walk
We are proud to have been part of the Easthampton ArtWalk since its inception in October, 2006. This is a fabulous community supported event that promotes the Arts in Easthampton. Taking place every 2nd Saturday of the month from 5-8 pm, year round, you will be inspired by the artistic displays of participating venues. (Just look for the yellow ArtWalk flags dotting Cottage Street during the Artwalk)
AwenTree features a different artist each month and hosts an opening during the ArtWalk with light refreshments and beverage.

The Art of Deshria (Melissa Stratton)
One of our Co-Proprietresses, Melissa Stratton, is an accomplished fine artist. She works under her artist name, Deshria. To view her work, please go to Deshria’s Gallery page.
About Deshria
The magical artistry of Deshria subtly illustrates the distinctions between her inner and outer perceptions. To that end, these bold works seek to manifest feelings, thoughts, and words into physical reality. To create Other World reality paintings, Deshria exaggerates what is seen – her colors are unusually vivid and saturated while chiaroscuro lighting and strong sunlight infuse the canvas. Sometimes she will omit all but one color to emphasize a perspective, often choosing themes that reveal the magic of the mundane. Deshria considers a painting successful when it captures the emotions first solicited by a theme or experience.
Deshria’s works in both pen, watercolour, and oils. The pen work support more detailed-orientated pictures, while the oil paintings are more expressive and emotional.
While her older work focused on expressions of depression, her current work is an investigation of spirituality in all its forms. Deshria’s paintings serve as a veritable journal of her inner and outer discoveries. Exploring connectedness to nature, she invites her viewers to immerse themselves in the ensouled planet along with her.
Deshria graduated from Mass Art with a BFA in Illustration. Some of her pieces are in private collections in Europe and United States.
