 Winifred Tannetta
Winifred recalls being open to the Unseen World from her early childhood and was fortunate to have parents who encouraged her intuition and self exploration as she grew up. The daughter of first-generation Irish- and Italian-Americans, she was raised in a passionate, loving home where her curiosity, creativity, and spirituality were nurtured.
Winifred’s love of the natural world was cultivated as a teenager while traveling to remote areas of Ontario during summer vacations. She is an avid outdoor enthusiast with experience as a long-distance wilderness backpacker, as well as a daily practice of local hiking and organic gardening. She cherishes her time outside, connecting to the Spirit of the Land and Sacred Source. Winifred is drawn to exploring our sacred earth and has traveled to Ireland, Spain, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia and to many of the National Forests/Parks in the United States.
Spirituality is perennially woven into the fabric of Winifred’s Path. She has more than 20 years of direct experience and knowledge in Paganism, Wicca, Goddess Traditions, Sacred Dance, Reiki, and Tarot. Her interest in American Indian Spiritual Traditions has led her to learn about their history and culture. Embracing the divine ability for all beings to connect to Sacred Source, she empowers others to find and listen to their inner voices, and to participate in the Sacred Traditions that honor life.
AwenTree is the manifestation of a lifelong dream to create a sustainable business that celebrates spiritually-inspired living, honors Sacred Traditions, in particular Pagan and Earth-based Paths, and encourages healing and transformation for all beings and the Earth.
Winifred is a NGH Certified Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master Teacher (since 1997), and COVR (Coalition of Visionary Resources) Board Member. She is co-founder and co-proprietress of AwenTree.
 Melissa Stratton
As a wee lass, she was frequently found wandering the realms of the Otherworld, learning from an early age how to ground and connect with the Mundane World without compromising her ability to intuit. As she became older, she recognized during her frequent wanderings that she held an especially deep connection to wolves and coyotes.
Melissa recalls expressing herself through drawings and paintings since early childhood. It was natural for her to channel these energies into her brilliantly-colored oil paintings which depict fanciful and inspiring scenes, while studying art at Mass Art. Her studies also fostered a fascination with expressions of the Divine, which led her to explore Medieval Christianity, Folk Beliefs of European Cultures, Mythology and Magick.
During a semester in Ireland she concentrated on Celtic Religion and Gaelic at Diseart Institute and visited many sacred sites. As a result of her deep connection to this land, Melissa considers Ireland to be her true home. Upon graduating in 2003, she established herself as a visionary artist.
Melissa overcame a debilitating illness during her early teens, which spurred her passion for alternative wellness modalities including shamanic journeying and dreamtime exploration. Listening to this second calling, she became a Reiki Master Teacher in 2005 and attended Stillpoint School of Massage, graduating in 2006 with additional training in Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, a form of shamanic bodywork.
Over time, it was an organic process for Melissa to weave together three core threads prevalent in her life: Animal Totemism/Core Shamanism, Visionary Art and her Healing Arts Practice.
Through her work at AwenTree, Melissa has created an opportunity to help people in their healing journey as well as to continue her own. When first approached by Winifred with the seed concept of AwenTree, the idea fit perfectly with her sense of Spirit’s plans for her path. She saw the potential for their two backgrounds to complement and meld together to create a stronger whole. Melissa continues to grow and evolve along with Awentree.
Melissa is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Member ABMP, Reiki Master Teacher (since 2005), Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Practitioner, and holds a BFA in Illustration from Mass Art. She is co-founder and co-proprietress of AwenTree.
